A New Surprise

Last year I played my first live dates in 11 years. Both were in Sweden, Gothenburg and Halmstad.

They were amazing!

The atmosphere, the kids, the bands I played with, the sense of pure punk DIY that seems to drive Swedie indiepop, all of it bowled me over. So it seems only fitting that the first 7” I’ve done in years should be coming out on Marie and Tommy’s lovely Heavenly Pop Hits label.

The three songs of mine on here were written after coming back from Sweden, when my head was still buzzing with the memories of all the lovely people I met there. If you’re one of those people, maybe you’ll spot yourself in one of the songs? 🙂

And the fourth song is my attempt at covering Agent Simple. It’s not a patch on his original but I hope you like it anyway and, if you haven’t already, check out his stuff and send him all your money.

Tomorrow is my 40th birthday. Instead of doing normal 40-year-old crisis shit, like stealing a high-performance sports car and going on a murder spree, I’m typing out a blurb for an EP of new songs! Whoopee! 🙂

This 7” is made out of my pure happiness. I hope some of it finds a place in your heart!
love and kisses,
Jyoti
